Phase 2 of the King Edwards Wharf (KEW) development (post code B16) is situated just off Browning Street and was completed in 2003 by the MCD developers at a cost of £35m.
KEW Phase 2 comprises 135 apartments and penthouses with contemporary styling and constructed for convenient and luxurious living. Living comfort is enhanced by a basement car park with each apartment having 1 or 2 allocated spaces.
Some apartments surround a private courtyard and others occupy two sides of a private but open plan courtyard and most apartments overlook the BCN canal network, either the Main Line or “Oozells Loop”.
Ease of living is enhanced with an underground secured car park with gates which are opened by a fob in your car as you approach. Every apartment has at least one space.
Again ease of living is enhanced by lifts rising from the car park to all floors.
A Google Earth view from above is shown below.
Phase 2 is the whole of the building shown with a courtyard both canal side on the lower left and also inside away from all the hustle and bustle of the city.
In the lower middle is one end of a residents-only canal bridge leading to the Phase 1 – a short cut to the city’s amenities.
On the right is the BCN canal with historic iron bridge on its left towpath and traditional stone bridge top right – all adding to the must-live-with view.
