Winterbourne Gardens In Its Early Summer Splendour

If , like me, your a sucker for viewing flowers in full bloom, then I hope you will enjoy this post.

I visited Winterbourne on 20th May and was so impressed with the blooms I had to return the next day for more photography.

The sun shone and the blooms were in superb condition – few brown edged petals.

Then I returned after the storms and heat of the rest of the week to find that the splendour had largely passed.

But a good thing about Winterbourne is that they have planted areas for all seasons, so there is always something to look forward to and enthuse about.

You can also have a very peaceful, relaxed visit and have a simple but pleasant lunch on the veranda at the back of the house in the company of quiet people and an escape from boisterous children – unlike the Botanical Gardens, which caters more for young families and is very popular for this.

Just to reassure you of my judgement, I have no connection with the gardens, except as an enthusiastic visitor.
