M6 J6 to J8 Northbound Repair Work Announced

Birmingham Connected this afternoon (Wednesday 21 February)  issued a notice of M6 North road works.

Their emailed statement is below…..

From tonight, Highways England (HE) need to carry out essential repair work to the M6 northbound carriageway between junctions 6 and 8 to keep it in a safe condition. 

There will be significant disruption to the M6 while this work takes place and local routes around this area will also be busier than usual, particularly the A38(M) towards Birmingham city centre and A34 travelling out of city. Access to the M5 is also affected. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journeys.

In summary:

  • Wednesday 21 February to Sunday 4 March, overnight closures of various sections of northbound carriageway and slip roads.
  • Friday 24 February to Monday 26 February, day and night, reduced lanes and speed limit on various sections of northbound carriageway and slip roads.
