The BIG MESSAGE is THROW THEM IN THE GENERAL WASTE BINS and NOT DOWN THE TOILET!!!
Shakela tells me that recently two adjacent apartments in Phase 2 had blocked drainage systems and this is currently going through an insurance claim.
This is inconvenient to say the least with possibility of back drainage up your loo! It is also highly unpleasant for the plumbers called in to clear the systems.
Many wipes packages give no advice on disposal and some that do just say “Not Currently Recyclable” with no mention of how to actually dispose of them!
Some that say they are disposable cannot be verified by us users because there are no real standards defining what is disposable.
Many do not dissolve like standard toilet paper, but instead may contain materials and construction processes which mean they do not disintegrate in the same way that a paper based tissue does.
The harsh reality is that wet wipes can easily cause flooding problems for householders and real damage to the environment.
SO PLEASE DISPOSE OF ALL YOUR WET WIPES IN THE GENERAL WASTE BINS AND NOT DOWN THE LOO.
