Birmingham Caribbean Festival

WP_20140605_010In case you missed news of this in advance (like me!) the Birmingham Caribbean Festival is taking place in Victoria and Chamberlain Squares from Thursday to Saturday this week (5th to 7th June) from 11am to 9pm (7pm on Saturday).

There you’ll experience Caribbean and Asian food, rum punch and tropical juices, music and dance with a focus on Caribbean culture and arts and crafts.

There is an abundance of stalls selling freshly cooked jerk chicken – one of my favourites 😀 – and also Indian curries and grills.

There’ll also be plenty of live reggae music on the stage.

Wandering passed today at 5pm the atmosphere was starting to build to a festive pitch as you would expect.

I say….Come on! Join in and rejoice in our multi-cultural city and its splendid people! It’s diverse, peaceful and much envied by others.
