Recommended Gadget Disposal Shop

Geoff Caine no longer recommends:

Gadget Swap

I posted the recomendation below because my previous treatment and price offered were good. However, I went into the shop in mid May and was offered absurdly poor prices for an iPone 3G and an almost new Google Asus Nexus 7 tablet computer. This was offered even though they new I had recommended Gadget Swap shop on this website.

So, I said goodbye and left.

I therefore withdraw my recommendation.

I wanted to dispose of my iPad 1 but could not face all the editing of an entry on ebay plus the hassle of delivery and disgust at how much commission ebay charges nowadays.

So, I tried Cash Converters in the city and was offered £50! I left the shop pretty quickly.

Luckily I came across a new shop round the corner called Gadget Swap. It is a single branch independent trader that has just opened. They offered me £100 and so the deal was struck.

How long they will continue to offer a fair price I don’t know but the man I dealt with seemed a very decent chap, quite different from the usual trade in operatives one encounters.

The shop is located next to the British Heart Foundation shop on the corner of Corporation Street and Bull Street, that is 102 Corporation Street to be exact.

Tel: 0121 212 9900 and 0744 333 136

You’ll need the usual 2 or 3 proof of id documents – I used a bank statement and my passport. Payment was in cash.

You can also buy used gadgets there. They deal in mobile phones, laptops, tablets, game consoles and sat navs.
