Dear ……

Re: Proposed External Decorations at King Edwards Wharf

We are pleased to advise that the proposed external decorations project at King Edwards Wharf is scheduled to commence around the middle of July with an estimated completion date of the middle of November.

Over this period the contractors will be painting the exterior metalwork which will include the Juliette balconies.  We are aware that some of these Juliette balconies are in very poor condition and to ensure the best finish possible it would be appreciated if we can arrange access to your apartment to enable the contractors to paint them from the inside.  Should you wish to permit this then it will be necessary for you to provide the painters with accompanied access to your apartment:  The painters will not be permitted to work in apartments without the resident (or her representative) present.  The project will be carried out in stages and we will be able to give you at least one week’s advance notice. Your cooperation would be appreciated in this matter.

The contractors will be utilising a combination of scaffolding and cherry pickers to access the external elevations of the development

Purely as a precaution it would be wise for you to advise your own Contents Insurers that these works are due to be carried out as they may consider the erection of scaffolding a material (but temporary) change in the circumstance since you commenced the policy.

It is extremely unlikely that this will result in any increase in your insurance premiums.

We will be displaying the schedule of works in both the concierge offices and on your website when they are finalised.  This will be updated on a regular basis to take into account any weather related issues.

If you should have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours ……..
